AN OLD-ROSICRUCIAN SUMMULA

As the Ideal World is the perfect reflection in all its particular aspects of the One Idea, the Three Perfections are the immanent essences of that emanating Idea; and in their unity of expression constitute the beauty of the Integral Order.

The Three Perfections being the reproduction or reflection of the One Substance, they correspond, in their triune interactive relationships, to the fourfold, the sevenfold, and nine-fold orders, or the respective Moments of Illumination in the Celestial Realms.

The First Moment is the predominating Essence of Goodness, the Integral Order; the Second Moment, the predominating Essence of Truth, the Sevenfold Reason, the Universal Order; and the Third Moment, the predominating Essence of Beauty, the Ideal Order.

Beauty is therefore the omnipresent and dynamic essence of Coelestia.

This Trinity of Perfections is also correspondential to and identical with the passive spiritual forma or soul within, above, behind and beyond all manifestation.

As that which is above is like that which is below, in an essential manner, so Coelestia by the communication of the spiritual forma of the world-egg upon Aetheria constituted the First Moment in Order, the Second in Space and the Third in Time; thus imparting the substantial potentiality of the whole Cosmos.

Therefore by the Law of the Second Moment it is seen that the Macrocosm is founded on the Cubic Stone of Truth, since the Sevenfold or Universal Order is analogous to Truth; the impartation of the Idea being directly from the Seven Seraphic Princes who, through the mediation and direction of the Nine Brahmas, or the Seraphim and Cherubim, were instrumental in carrying out the Functions of the Cosmic Order.

The Beauty of the Ideal thus gave Light and a formative expression to the darkness of Aetheria, which includes the Heavens and the metaphysical planes of the mind, the Order of Art; and to Corporalia, the sensible and concrete world, including the lower or animal planes of the mind, the Cryptic Order and the Order of Nature.

Therefore throughout the whole Macrocosm Beauty is the dynamic essence; the Active Principle in the Cosmological Procession; the cause of all combinations and recombinations; the reflector of the Archetypal Universe in the Anti-typal, the mirror wherein the ONE Beholds Himself, His Works, and His Beloved the Bride of His Countenance; and the active and reactive powers of the Paternal and Maternal Principles of the transcendental perfection of the Universe.

It is seen therefore that the Three Perfections are in their respective Moments the Transcendental Laws of Being; the Active Principles of the Metabasic Ascent and Descent; the involving and evolving arcs whose conterminous and equilibrating gyrations form the Ideal Circle: on the one hand, the Infinite, the Beginningless and Endless, and on the other, the Finite Universe of time, space and causation; the impersonal and Personal which are ONE.

Inasmuch as the Universe rests on the Truth, the very statement affords the means of attainment. Truth is the intermediate Principle, and as such it is evident that its acquisition rests primarily upon its scientific and essential phases.

Moreover, as Truth is the essence of the Sciences, the nine-fold or Cosmic Order, the application of scientific means must reveal methods for its attainment, utilization and conscious application in the actualization of the passive potentialities of the corporeal plane, the raising of Nature to the Order of Art and the conscious and intelligent fulfillment, and cooperation in and for the performance of the Macrocosmic Purposes.

To this end a right knowledge and application of the Truth must lead to and open the way to that Cosmic Intelligence whereby man is enabled to comprehensively understand the Universe from the Ideal standpoint; its various aspects, the uses and relationships of the apparently conflicting ideas of thought and of action, and how these are and must necessarily be integrated into the Perfect Sphere.

Inasmuch as the Laws of the Three Moments are the Transcendental Laws of Being, so also are the Seven Colors of the Solar Spectrum the Laws of the whole realm of Nature, and the circumambient and reactive vibrations of Spirit; each Law containing within itself in a potential manner the qualities of the others, yet maintaining its own particular characteristic. Each one is therefore a sphere, its color corresponding to the angle of declination from the center of Unity.

From these Primary Laws all the differentiating spectra, of whatever kind, arise. As channels of the Universal Order they represent the Natural Hierarchies under which all individuals and races, all forms of religion, all partitive truth and all organisms of whatsoever kind are found to synchronize with those spheres, planes and segments which go to make up the Perfect Sphere.

As universals they are the natural concomitants of the Universal Order, which is itself the incipient stage of the Integral Order.

As action produces a corresponding reaction, and as these Laws are reactive to Spirit, they are necessarily relative. The material universe is therefore relative to the Archetypal, inasmuch as it has no existence-absolute.

The Reality of the material universe exists in its Relativity, and its Relativity subsists in the Reality. The ontological, ideological and cosmological aspects prove it to be good, true and beautiful—all that IS is Good. The Laws of Relativity therefore regulate the universe, firstly, because of the analogical action of Spirit, and, secondly, because the more closely they are related the more ordinate and integral they become. Relativity therefore defines the Oneness of the Macrocosm.

Upon this synthesis rests the midline, the intelligible and conscious recognition and inclination towards a philosophical discrimination between the reality and the appearance. Truth is the causative principle. Man stands as it were between the Infinite within and the Infinite without; his pragmatic faculty is the discriminator which decides the line of demarcation between spirit and matter. Therefore the  primary object is to discover and associate facts in order to avoid the extremes of ultra-nominalism on the one hand and ultra-realism on the other. Truth thus becomes integrated and raised to a higher plane, from which standpoint it is seen that all that IS is good, beautiful and true in its own plane, and thus serves and adds to the beauty and splendor of the Cosmos.

As man is a spiritual-corporeal being he is subject to the same laws as those which govern the Macrocosm; and he also rests upon the Truth. Man’s Descent is therefore to the end that he may attain to a perfect realization of Truth by the actualization of his potentialities, to a comprehension of God, to the supernatural life, and to the fulfillment of the External Word of the Lord, Whose Word shall not return unto Him void.

The External Word of the Lord is Truth and it is Light. Man is the Word manifest; he is that Word, the expression of the Great Name, the mystic key. Man’s very nature is that of reaction towards the First Mover, the Self-Existent, Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent One.

Truth is therefore the way and the keystone to the arch of the Moral Order. But to the enlargement of being truth alone and of itself is not sufficient. Therefore to attain to the perfect realization, the free gift of the supernatural life and the mystical and intimate union with the Infinite One is necessary; the Celestial Fire of Love is the power which draws and unites the twin-flames.

The love of Truth as Good is man’s part to perform in the attainment of the supernatural life; and it is the part of the Goodness of Truth in Divine Providence to bestow it.

Beloved I am thyself. By Conjugal-Love, the perfect reciprocity and union which is so complete that All is seen as One and One as All, freedom is attained. The soul’s cosmic day has dawned; it sees the Heavens reflected in the mind, its instrument, and Corporalia in the body, its vehicle.

And man shall rule the Microcosm as God rules the Macrocosm. So are Integral Goodness, Integral Truth and Integral Beauty—ONE.
